Memoranda of understanding establish procedures for the regulators to request enforcement-related information that may be available in the jurisdiction of another regulator. Information may be provided from files or obtained using investigative procedures and powers.

A considerable amount of cooperation and exchange of information between the BCSC and other regulators also takes place on an informal basis, outside the formal context of any memorandum of understanding.
